III

Established the original support concept and identified the need to refine angle and ergonomics after instructor feedback.
Each prototype began with feedback.
PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT
ITERATION I
The design has moved through CAD modeling, 3D-printed prototypes, certified instructor
and rider feedback, engineering review, and a current metal prototype.
Fixed heel rest
Redesigned the heel-rest orientation, dimensions, and structure to improve comfort, control, and stability.
ITERATION II
Revised ergonomics
Engineered angular indexing and longitudinal calibration to customize heel rest position for individual riders.
ITERATION III
Dual adjustment
Incorporated feedback on material distribution, reinforcement, manufacturability, and cost.
ITERATION IV
Engineering review
Integrated an adjustable support system and safety-release concept, with further refinement.
ITERATION V
Safety release feature
Manufactured metal prototype with further material optimization, and structural reinforcement for field testing.
CURRENT STAGE
Field test preparation
The evolution from early 3D printed models
to the current Adaptive Support Stirrup.
