Mavromare began with a question: Why should the lack of accessible design prevent
individuals with disabilities from experiencing the physical, emotional, and social
benefits of horseback riding? Through therapeutic riding, founder Junaid “JJ” Jamal
saw how conventional stirrups could limit comfort, positioning, and confidence for
riders who need added support.
Efficiency should never compromise equity.
Named in memory of a black mare who passed away in the summer of 2026,
Mavromare is a human-centered design company focused on accessible products
for mobility challenges—starting with therapeutic horseback riding.
